Love is in the Air...

Here's our gooshie lovey Valentine's Day ;)

I love surprises and I love not having to make any decisions so...:) for ours Valentine's day Hayden did all the planning! What a man! We got all dressed up and went to his friends house for dinner. I was so nervous about what to wear because I didn't know what to expect for our date. :) His friends made a really yummy italian pasta with these AMAZING bread sticks. Another couple brought a delicious drink and salad and then we were in charge of dessert, which Hayden actually took charge of so I didn't have to do anything:) We ate and chatted and had so much fun! Hayden's friend was so excited for the evening that he sorta spoiled the surprise and mentioned something about dancing so I kinda figured it out:) But it did't matter at that point because it was just fun that he planned it in secret. Then we all loaded into a suburban and drove to the Murry Arts Center. The best part was that this place did a lesson before the dancing! We totally learned how to tango!!! (well mostly..lol) They gave me a red flower when we came in and everyone was all dressed up and the place has like chandeliers and old school decorations. It was so cute too because all of these older couples were there and had matching outfits and they were the best dancers there!! We kept watching them and trying to do what they did, and that just made me laugh more! I think that was the first time since our wedding that we danced! It was so nice and so much fun! Hayden was totally out of his comfort zone, but he kept me laughing and dancing the whole night :) I love that he'd do something for me that I really enjoy even when he really does not like it. (-Hayden's Valentine's gift gave him back all the comfort he could want with some yummy chocolaty morsels from The Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakery and a little card I made.) Now that I know about that place though he might be in trouble..lol It may become a regular date night location. :) We stayed there pretty late so after that we just drove back with everyone and then headed home. It was so much fun :) I loved every bit of it!!!

I've been having so much fun with some new adobe photo and video editing software my brother-in-law helped us get (thanks again Ben!) and I came across this video of Hayden's birthday. We went ice blocking.. best video ever:)

Hearts Melting and Snow Pounding

Hallie and Hayden are my number one's on melting my heart and lately that has been in full gear:) So hear are some adorable's from little Hals :)

Yesterday-
H - Mom, can you please sleep by me?
Me - I need to sleep on a mattress sweetie.
H- Where is your mattress?
Me- On my bed in my bedroom
H- (deliberating) Mommy please can you sleep by me?
Me - Remember, I need to sleep on a mattress.
H- Mommy can you move your mattress into my bedroom on the floor and then sleep by me?
Me -(melted heart) How about you come into my room in the morning when you wake up and we can snuggle.
H- Ok
Me - (feeling bad and still slushy) and then maybe sometime this week we can have a slumber party
H- And it can be a girls night out!!!
Me- Yup!
H- And I can sleep in your bed all night long! And Daddy will be gone and I will miss him.
Me- Ya... (doubly melted)

Today - She didn't want to get out of her nice warm bed and join me so I laid on the floor by her for 10 seconds before she was done and wanted to sit up and chat about the day...
H - Mommy is the sun awake now?
Me - Yes, it's morning!
H- Does the sun have a face and arms and hands?
Me - No not really
H - Then how does he say his prayers?
Me -(yes that's the melting point) Well...he's not really alive so he doesn't really say prayers. (anyone have better answers? I swear I have had the most unanswerable questions these past few months!)
H- He's not alive and doesn't really say prayers?...( that gave her a pause to think, and then other questions for the day burst through) :)

Last but not least in ballet class! Hallie is SO adorable in her little tutu, leotard and tights! Every time I see her dance I melt! She will just randomly giggle in class and just loves it! I haven't figured how to get the pictures off my phone to the computer, but I will soon so look for pictures soon!

Now for the Pounding Snow :) We took a very needed vacation/trip to Colorado this past weekend to visit family and see your cute little niece Kasia get baptized. It was a fabulous trip and so great to see them! We had late nights, uncontrollable laughter, and some cocka-doodle-doo's (we snorta like this new game called snorta:) ) On our drive out we stopped half way in Grand Junction and stayed at a nice hotel with a heated indoor pool. That was a piece of heaven for all of us! I love only having to entertain for 4 hours! Then to wake up and swim before having to jump back in the car was fabulous! So of course we did the same thing on the way home. Unbeknown to us it wasn't really an option to go on that night anyway; the freeway was closed down because of snow and wind that was pushing several cars off of the road. It snowed all night and we decided to head out early to avoid more snow... An hour later we saw a crunched car off the road because of the slippery roads. It was pretty bad. Then it seemed to clear slightly and we felt like it was getting a little better, unfortunately the roads did actually do that. 70 miles a hour on a turn that was suddenly icy proved that the roads were NOT good. We took the turn and our wheels kept turning. We started spinning so fast and all I saw was white and a pole in front of us! Luckily we missed the pole and the spinning had slowed, but we just skidding down the side of the bank our two wheels on the top of the hill came off the ground and I was sure we were going to roll, but right then we hit into a bank of snow on the other side and it knocked the wheels back to the ground. I pretty much couldn't breath and Hayden was freaked out too. I looked back to Hallie and she said,"That was a crazy ride!" We were all ok and that was a huge blessing! We got a little help moving the car out away from the bank and toward the road a little bit, but ended up needing a tow truck to pull us all the way out! It was a crazy adventure and of course I documented it :)

The Ultrasound :)

I've never been to an ultrasound, that is until yesterday. Our birthmother emailed me weeks ago and said that she would love for me to be there if I wanted to:) It was such an amazing experience! Seeing the wiggly little girl (YES GIRL!!!) wave to us with her tiny fingers and then open and close her mouth made all of this so much more real!

(side note) - Whenever I asked Hallie if our birthmom had a boy or girl in her tummy she would respond matter-of-factly with, "Mommy it's just a baby sister!" When we found out it was a girl (everyone was sure they had seen that it was a boy) the birthmom said, "Hallie knew! She was the only one that was right!" :)

Every little thing looked perfect and she looks 100% healthy, so we're all so happy! I got to take all of the pictures and the video home to show Hayden:) He loved looking at them and seeing how happy I was:) Both of the birthparents were there and their moms and they all gave me hugs and said congratulations:) I was/am so happy and full of gratitude! We feel beyond blessed for the miracle of adoption and birthparents that are so full of love and selflessness that are willing to help us build our family!
