So life is one crazy ride.... We've had a lot going on! Hayden had his white coat ceremony and his mom, dad, sister, and brother-in-law were able to come out and support us it that. It's basically where they talk about how you are on the path to being a doctor and to realize that that is what you are and basically give you a pep-talk about getting through all the craziness of classes because there is light at the end of the tunnel. It was actually really cool to see them put the coat on Hayden and then after to see him as he'll be in a few short...lol, years. I'll post pics later :)
Hallie is full swing in preschool and loving it! She is so brilliant and sweet and we just love her to pieces!
Leilah is a dancing machine and so spunky and fun! She adds a lot of color to our lives!
And Greyson, sweet Greyson! We love him so much and he is such a good baby! He did give us a scare recently though... Monday morning around 1:45 I woke up to him struggling to breathe. So I called the emergency line of our pediatrician who told me to go to the all night insta-care. We got there and the Dr. took one look at him and told the nurse to call 911. I was a complete wreck! The dr. started Greyson on oxygen and then gave him a breathing treatment while we waited for the ambulance. I rode with Greyson to the hospital holding the oxygen mask on his tiny face. His breathing was getting less labored from the treatment and the paramedics were so sweet trying to distract me and keep me calm. When we got there they wheeled us both to the E.R where he got check and tested. It's sort of a blur for the next couple of hours; I think about 3 different Dr's came in and they each had a different diagnosis; croup, RSV, reflux. So they tested for RSV and took a chest x-ray and gave him a steroid. The x-ray came back with a little big of cloudiness in his lungs, but not pneumonia so they said it was a little inflammation of his broncioils. So the Dr. who finally settled in as our Dr said that Greyson really needed to be admitted and would need to stay the night for observation. Eek. But the pediatric unit was full so we'd have to stay in the E.R until a room opened up.. double eek. I was so worried about him being monitored, breathing, and not getting infections from all the other patients in the E.R or the apparently full peds center! He was still stridoring (which is basically like wheezing and you can see their lungs pulling in because it's so hard for them to breath) so around 9 am... I think... we got wheeled down to the pediatric unit. Everyone was really nice and accommodating. Greyson's breathing was a lot quieter and he started to seem more like himself. Around 11 the pediatrician came in and I mentioned I was nervous about him staying over night. He checked Greyson and just said he wasn't ready to go home yet. Every couple of hours the nurses came in to check his oxygen levels, temp, and blood pressure. Finally around 4 pm our original nurse checked in on us and asked if we were going home. I said no and she was really surprised because Greyson had been improving all day. She got the Dr. and he came and checked him again and said Greyson had improved a lot, but the night time was the scariest with croup. He said we could go but need a follow up appointment tomorrow and to bring him right back if there were any problems. So then my nervousness shifted to going home... The Dr. assured me it was ok and thanks to some amazing help from my uncle and cousin I had a car ready for me to go at the hospital and by 6:00 we were back home. Hayden missed a day of studying, but the girls were in heaven having him home. They all went trick or treating and had a fun evening. Greyson had a rough night with a couple of episodes, but we made it through. He's doing better now, we just have to keep a close eye on him. One of our sweet friends lent us her Angel monitor that sounds an alarm if the baby stops breathing and it's been a life saver. We are so grateful for everyone support and love! I'm sure Greyson will continue to get better every day.
